A bit of History
Mothering Sunday in the UK falls on the fourth Sunday in the Christian festival of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday. The date of Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent will differ every year because of the calculation to set Easter Sunday. Most other countries celebrate Mother’s Day on a fixed day: In Norway is the second Sunday in February. In Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Japan, Turkey and USA, is always the second Sunday in May. In Bahrain, Honk Kong, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, is always celebrated on May 10. In France and Sweden is the last Sunday in May. In Argentina, is the second Sunday in October.
